We Demand an Independent Investigation into the Sabotage of the MV Saoirse

Tell Everyone about Contact.ie - www.contact.ie

We, the undersigned, demand a full and, especially, independent investigation into the sabotage of the MV Saoirse, a ship bearing an Irish flag. We deem this act of sabotage to be an act of aggression against the Irish state.

Further, we demand that the perpetrators of this act of sabotage be held accountable in a public manner and if the perpetrators are deemed to be acting as state-actors that at a minimum diplomatic ties be cut with the beligerent state.

Signed,

Civil society must hold Israel to account

Israel is immune to public criticism as it can rely on the political, economic and military support of compliant governments in the West. Those who stand in the shadows profiteering from the trade in Israeli goods escape criticism and wash their hands of responsibility for funding the rogue state which stands accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity.   In view of Israel's blatant disregard for the safety of the Irish citizens aboard the Irish ship MV Saoirse I call on Irish Jewellers to end the trade in Israeli diamonds - Israel's most important export commodity and a major source of funding for the Israeli military and its criminal actions.  Irish people and people worldwide should reject the lie being perpetrated by the diamond industry and jewellers worldwide that diamonds crafted in Israel are conflict free -  they are not, they are blood diamonds. http://electronicintifada.net/content/diamond-industrys-double-standard-israel/10102

Petition

When/where will this be sent?

To All TDs

I was hoping to get 500 signatures by Monday and then send it to all TDs in Ireland. Eitherway, it'll be sent on Monday to all TDs.

252 signatures and 862 likes,

252 signatures and 862 likes, I do not understand?

Nor Me

I don't understand either. I'd have presumed that everyone who "liked" it would sign it, but I guess it's easier to hit the "like" button than to sign your name and then click on "confirm" link in an email. Perhaps each of the 1,000 likes can be considered a signing?

Re: 252 signatures and 862 likes

Because that's how unbelively lazy & stupid people are.

I've seen it loads of times on FaceBook type petition websites.

Click like but don't spend another few seconds entering your email address.
